28th November 2006 - Mike Tyson to Fight in Pride Championship in next leg of World Tour?
Mike Tyson in China
In Tokyo, Japan this week, Pride representative Keiichi Sasahara was asked about the possibility of Mike Tyson fighting Wanderlei Silva, Pride's Middleweight (Light Heavyweight) Champion. Sasahara responded by saying that there's a possibility of seeing him versus any Pride fighter.

Sasahara said, "As always, we just want to make the fights the fans want to see. Of course, we'll have to talk it over with Tyson's people."

Pride has signed a contract with Tyson to fight, but will this fight be an MMA fight? Probably not. According to Kami Pro Hand, Pride would more than likely hold a boxing match with Pride rules (not MMA rules) to take place on one of their shows, and more than likely this show would take place in China.
The big question has now become who might fight Tyson. Kami Pro Hand also reported that Pride mentioned Mirko Cro Cop and Mark Hunt as possibilities, although nothing is confirmed. Cro Cop and Hunt would be logical choices due to their appeal among the fans and their proven stand-up ability with
their K-1 experience.
Sasahara mentioned that Tyson is well-known all over the world, not just in Japan and America. Sasahara said, "No matter if it's Brazil, Europe, Korea, or China, we want to branch out into all those places, and we think he'll be able to help us do that. He's part of our global strategy. It sounds bad to say, 'We're planning to take over the world,' but of course, we want to make that into a reality."

Mike Tyson v Trevor Berbick
22nd November 2006 - 20 Years To The Day since Mike Tyson Destroyed the late Trevor Berbick to become the youngest heavyweight champion

It is hard to believe that it is 20 Years since Mike Tyson first became Heavyweight Champion of the World back in 1986.
This is one of our favourite Tyson performances.
Tyson showed how to be aggresive, but very patient (At least in Round 1). Round 2 saw Tyson come out slugging before knocking Berbick off his feet after just 15 seconds.
Berbick got to his feet but was soon sent into orbit after taking some devastating combinations from Tyson.
R.I.P Trevor.

Mike Tyson v Sanders
21st October 2006 - Mike Tyson v Corey Sanders
Goes Full Four Rounds

Mike Tyson's world tour kicked off Friday at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio, with the former heavyweight champion fighting four rounds against Corey "T-Rex" Sanders. Sanders entered the ring wearing headgear, while Tyson did not use headgear. The fighters used 16-ounce gloves and wore t-shirts. Tyson dropped Sanders in the opening seconds and pressed the action throughout. Sanders seemed to have little interest in trading punches and virtually all the good connects were made by Tyson. Sanders' knees were buckled by a Tyson right in round three, and Tyson landed a big right hand in the fourth. No decision was rendered.

Mike Tyson World Tour
20th October 2006 - Tyson World Tour Begins and feels a little nervous !

Mike Tyson said today: "I'm happy to be here, starting my world tour in Youngstown. It's been a little nerve-racking, but I'm ready to get it started. I'm a little nervous. The people here have been great. I lived approximately 18 miles from here. I'm sure this will be entertaining. I expect to have some fun. Bigger things (on the world tour) are down the road, places like Australia, China and possibly Dubai. I'm doing these exhibitions for charity. I'm retired; no way I'm fighting again. I began training to get in shape and it just snowballed. I wanted to do something for charity and here we are."

Mike Tyson To Fight in October 2006
2nd October 2006 - Tyson to Fight this Month in Exhibition

Tyson, who last fought in June 2005, losing to the unheralded Kevin McBride, will return to the ring Oct. 20 at the 6,000-seat Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown against former sparring partner Corey "T-Rex'' Sanders.
"Hopefully, he's gentle and kind to me,'' Tyson said. "If he starts swinging, I'm going to start swinging.''
The 40-year-old Tyson had said he was finished with boxing after his bout with McBride, which he quit after six rounds.
On Thursday, the man who vowed to eat Lennox Lewis' children and bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear seemed accepting of his current position and emphasized he's in no mood for a comeback.
"If I don't get out of these financial quagmires, there's a possibility I may have to be a punching bag for somebody,''
